Barkas B1100, forgotten DDR van

Another forgotten concept from the DDR is the Barkas B1100 from 1971. It was developed at the end sixties, and was meant to be the Successor of the B1000 model. The two stroke engine was replaced by the engine from the Moskvich 412. Sadly only three prototypes were built, from which one remained in the museum in Frankenberg near Dresden.

A very progressive construction. As you may remember similar designs appered in Germany only in 1979 as the Transporter T3 came out:

Some DDR Avantgarde:

So now waiting for the 3D print!
